Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt/synopsis : The book is about me and my interaction with students, faculty, and everyone else. I want to move through my life from birth to the present. The 85 years of life have been eventful, and I am grateful for those who helped me arrive at this point in life. I want to convey the events that guided me through my early years, grade, high school, Army, marriage, college, teaching, and retirement. Each day was a learning experience. The goal was to make teaching more rewarding to the students. Many assignments that are included were not present when I started in 1965. My work during the summers helped me understand the innovations – NC (numerical control), CNC (computer numerical control), EDM (electric discharge machining). That learning helped me convey that knowledge to the students. Included are jobs made by the students that were designed to provide similar experiences found in the machining industry. There are stories about students and teachers that filled my days as a teacher. Lastly, there are assignments a person can try. My only comment is, “don’t do the last two because they are difficult.” That was a favorite comment to get students to work the difficult problems.

For Eyulf, the youngest son of a minor lord, the opportunity to train with a Rune-Singer Mage was the chance of a lifetime. He is content…until he discovers a volume of Lost Words, powerful Runes forgotten through the ages. Corrupted by Magic he cannot control, things go wrong quickly. Jaakko, a simple huntsman, returns to his home late one night to find his village destroyed by a creature out of legend. Obsessed with the monster and his desire for revenge, he spends fruitless years hunting the beast before he realizes that it toys with him and he lacks the Power to destroy it. When Avitus, an officer aboard a Byzantine ship of war, learns that his captain’s orders are to sell their ship and abandon the crew in the far North, he finds himself a penniless outlander. When he finds work as Steward to a future king he feels all will be well...until the crippled Mage comes to court. Aila, spurned by Eyulf in his quest for Power, has quite happily made a new life for herself without him. When he returns, and tries to claim her once more as his betrothed, her fear of the potent magic he wields keeps her from confiding in the few people she feels she can trust. One by one, they are drawn into Eyulf's treachery. The Hunted Mage Trilogy incorporates a blend of History, Fantasy and Ancient Finnish folklore.

Or so the legend goes; but no one should believe in legends. The Sandman slips through houses in search of nightmares, intending to kill them with his lustrous dagger. There is more to the Sandman than typical humans can believe. There is a world of mysterious Sand Recruits, hourglasses that toll the brink of death, nightmares that prey on tears, and sands. Book excerpt/synopsis : “In this new collection of Ghanaian stories and proverbs, we are given a rare look at how people's oral traditions and folklore embody the ethos and pathos of their culture. Through her storytelling, Sister Rosina embraces a way of bearing witness and revealing the greatest truths of living to others. In her native country of Ghana, West Africa, stories are used to teach morals, ethics, spirituality, hospitality, and character and to help shape a more profound spiritual way of seeing and being. These stories are passed on by rote from one generation to the next. Sister Rosina-the first woman in her family to assume the mantle of an ancestral storyteller-is the keeper of a treasure trove of proverbs. Stories she learned by memory from her immediate family, her parents, grandparents, and beyond. Their lessons shaped her spiritual development and choice of vocation, leading to a religious calling within The Episcopal Church and greater Anglican Communion as a nun and priest serving others in a ministry of Christ.” — Ron Starbuck - Saint Julian Press, Inc. - Publisher/Executive Editor

Book excerpt/synopsis : The final thrilling chapter in the Tristan and Isolde trilogy . . . Isolde, heir to the throne of the queens, is now a sovereign in her own right. With the glories of the throne comes the responsibility of a queen, and Isolde knows she must return to her beloved Western Isle. She can no longer tolerate her marriage to King Mark of Cornwall, a marriage she has accepted for years in order to save her country from the threat of war and to be near her only love, Mark’s nephew Tristan of Lyonesse. King Mark, always cowardly and spiteful, is too heavily influenced by his monks and counselors, who loathe the powerful and independent Isolde. And so she leaves Cornwall for good and comes home to Ireland, where her lords face a growing threat from the warlike Picti, who live in the barren highlands to the north of England. The Picti have a bold new king, Darath, who is determined to take the riches of Ireland for his own people, whether by war or by marriage with Isolde. Isolde gathers her armies to confront the Picti and faces a violent conflict as well with King Mark, who vows he will not let a prize like Isolde, and Ireland, slip from his grasp. Isolde is last in a line of famous warrior queens who have guarded Ireland from time before memory, and now she—and her knight, Tristan—must play out their fate and face her enemies in a final battle, a war that could spell ruin for them both.

Book excerpt/synopsis : In Limestone, Indiana, a city tucked away among forested hills, peculiar things happen, often in the vicinity of a jack-of-all-trades named Gordon Mills. Centaurs and nymphs shelter in a local cave, alligators lurk in the sewers, warm snow falls on the Fourth of July, cornstalks rise higher than chimneys, and the northern lights shine down on the municipal dump. Gordon takes such events in stride and deals with them as part of his work on the city maintenance crew. He earns just enough to support a boisterous family, which includes his formidable wife Mabel, their four children, Mabel's parents, and his widowed mother—nine souls packed into an old house that falls apart as fast as Gordon can fix it. Part folktale, part tall tale, part comic romance, Small Marvels revels in the wonders of everyday life. So, welcome to Limestone, Indiana. You won't find it on a map, but you may remember visiting the place in dreams, the rare, blissful ones in which puzzles are solved, kids flourish, hard work pays off, and love endures.
