While fleeing the scene of a crime, he is also caught up in the same fateful car crash. Together he and Jesse discover that everything is not as it may seem. It is said that beyond all reason, there exists another world. A world not controlled by rationality or predictable thought, but the unpredictable subconscious mind. What happens if that world is discovered? David sits by Jesse's bedside hoping for a miracle when he, as well as Thomas Keyes, are challenged to believe the impossible. Can the world as they know it, hide another whole and complete existence? David is forced to make a choice. In a race against odds, David must decide whether to kill or be killed. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt/synopsis : ‘My parents were now dabbling with drugs and Southern Comfort, even going so far as to put a selection of hallucinogens into my bottle to witness the effects for their own amusement. I only know this because my mum made no attempt to hide it, often speaking openly about their experiments with my milk supply. Her only regret being the time she added a small amount of speed to my formula to see how long it would take me to fall asleep.’ Set in the UK and Ireland in the late 1970s and early 1980s, You Shot My Dog and I Love You, is a harrowing story of horrific physical and mental abuse inflicted on the author at the hands of his parents. In addition, the author's parents demanded that he assist them in their life of crime, go on the run in Europe to evade the law, and hide out in a caravan from the local police force. This is just some of the trauma that the author writes about. The story is intertwined with darkly comic elements to provide relief from the disturbing events of a tumultuous childhood. Due to the nature of the content You Shot My Dog and I Love You is written anonymously.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt/synopsis : JOHN BROWN (1800-1859) John Brown was an American abolitionist, born in Connecticut and raised in Ohio. He felt passionately and violently that he must personally fight to end slavery. In 1856, in retaliation for the sack of Lawrence, he led the murder of five proslavery men on the banks of the Pottawatomie River. He stated that he was an instrument in the hand of God. Brown did not end there. On Oct. 16, 1859, Brown and 21 followers captured the U.S. arsenal at Harpers Ferry. Brown planned the takeover as the first step in his liberation of the slaves, but it was taken the next morning by Robert E. Lee. Brown was hanged on Dec. 2, 1859. He became a martyr for many because of the dignity and sincerity that he displayed during his popular trial. Benet wrote "John Brown's Body," an epic about the Civil War. He framed his poem around the life and death of John Brown.

Download PDF or read online Emily Dickinson: Remembered Book by Jean Elizabeth Ward and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2008-08-26 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt/synopsis : Illustrations within this selection from her poems, published to meet the desire of her personal friends. Especially of her surviving sister. The thoughtful reader will find a quality more suggestive of the poetry of William Blake than of anything to be elsewhere found, flashes of wholly original and profound insight into nature and life; words and phrases exhibiting an extraordinary vividness of descriptive and imaginative power, yet often set in a seemingly whimsical or even rugged frame. They are here published as they were written, with very few and superficial changes; although it is fair to say that the titles have been assigned, almost invariably, by the editors. In many cases these verses will seem to the reader like poetry torn up by the roots, with rain and dew and earth still clinging to them, giving a freshness and a fragrance not otherwise to be conveyed.
